Objectives

The degree is organized around four complementary disciplines: Literature (ancient, French and comparative), History (from ancient to contemporary history), Archaeology and History of Art.

This multidisciplinarity makes this course the only one of its kind in the Grande-Ouest area.

Its main scientific objective is to provide students with an equal measure of classic and modern general knowledge in this field along with in-depth knowledge of European heritage, which will be considered in all its historical depth from antiquity to the present day, drawing on historical and archaeological sources, artistic productions and literary texts.

By combining these various fields of study, the degree gives students a general knowledge that is characterized by its breadth and coherence, while allowing them to master the analytical techniques of each of the four disciplines.
