Objectives

This specialized degree has been designed to address current developments in the field of performing arts. It offers a number of pathways to meet the needs of different learners (students, performing arts practitioners, teachers wishing to gain a university-level qualification).

Transdisciplinarity runs through this course, allowing students to develop their ability to transfer ways of working and questioning by adapting to different contexts. Highly relevant to today’s workplace, these qualities enable students to prepare for their professional future in the best way possible.

Skills

  • Conceptualizing and organizing high-level thinking in the field of performing arts, culture and heritage.

  • Acquiring academic research tools and skills.

  • Analysing, based on interdisciplinarity, the links between the various art forms: theatre, music, dance, performance as well as texts and theatre productions from different cultures.

  • Linking practice and theory to develop and/or support professional performance projects.

  • Writing documents (summaries, reports, dissertations, etc.) rigorously and efficiently.

  • Producing dossiers, articles, projects for various cultural facilities.

  • Using computational and digital tools (documentation, archiving, data processing, audio-visual recordings, websites, social networks, etc.).

  • Producing, creating or performing in shows based on academic research.

Course Content

The degree is organized into shared pathways:

  • Master 1 (one pathway): Critical Perspectives.

  • Master 2 (two pathways): Critical Perspectives and Performing Arts Mediation in the Digital Age.
