Rennes 2 University recently organized a series of events to inform and inspire students about international mobility opportunities, such as studying abroad, internships, and language assistantships. Held from October 14 to 18, the program included workshops, stands, and creative activities that aimed to provide students with both practical advice and personal insights into life abroad.
The event kicked off on October 14 with a "travel diary" workshop at the university's Espace des Langues. This hands-on session focused on notebook creation, where students designed personalized journals to document their international experiences. A follow-up session was held on October 21, to allow students to add illustrations to their travel diaries.
On October 17, the university held a vibrant information fair in Hall L, where students explored international mobility options, including study programs, internships, and assistantships abroad. The Buddy System was also promoted, a mentorship program designed to connect local students with incoming international students. In addition, organizations such as the Rennes Maison de l’Europe and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) were present, providing students with both information and guidance in the form of festive activities.
A key highlight was the European Café hosted by the university library at its language center. Here, students gathered to share their personal mobility stories alongside students who were thinking about embarking on a mobility, creating a space for cultural exchange and inspiration.
The event also featured a creative podcast workshop. Participants had the chance to design, script, record, and edit a podcast episode from scratch, capturing the emotions and experiences of living in a different country. This hands-on activity provided an innovative way to reflect on the joys and challenges of international mobility.
The week-long program was an inspiring showcase of Rennes 2 University’s commitment to fostering international exchange and encouraging students to embrace the rich cultural and academic experiences that come with living and studying abroad.
