Mission Univer.Cité
The Univer.Cité mission aims to establish community service as a core mission within the institution, alongside research and education.
The goal is to make all of the university’s resources and expertise in research, education, and creativity accessible and usable by as many people as possible – and particularly by members of civil society who do not have easy access to them.
The Univer.Cité mission operates at the intersection of the academic world and civil society to develop joint projects and concrete actions in the following areas:
- Collaborative and participatory research
- Consultations and expert assessments
- Social valuation of knowledge
- Customized training and teaching methods
- Student projects in real-world settings
- Forums, debates, and seminars
The Univer.Cité mission is organized around four areas:

Réiunis
The International Universities-Society Network (RÉIUNIS) aims to transform the university model — including its research, educational programs, and social missions — in order to bring universities closer to society and to harness their full potential in the search for solutions demanded by the state of the world and today’s many challenges. RÉIUNIS has a twofold purpose: to share experiences that can contribute to this goal and to promote these ambitions on the international stage. We seek to bring together all primarily French-speaking institutions that share this vision in order to advance them within the framework of public policies, as well as research and innovation strategies, programs, and budgets.
The founding partner universities of this network are the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), University of Strasbourg, University of Rennes 2, Lumière Lyon 2 University, University of Lausanne (Switzerland), and Gaston Berger University (Senegal).

TISSAGE
The “Science-Society Triptych for Collective Action” (TISSAGE) project aims to foster dialogue between science and society by building connections among citizens, researchers, and decision-makers, particularly on issues related to environmental, health, digital, and societal transitions.
The TISSAGE project aims to bring citizens, researchers, and decision-makers together so they can get to know and understand one another, thereby building a stronger society and taking action together. The goal is to involve all stakeholders in every stage of the scientific process in order to carry out truly participatory research.
