In the current context of an accumulation of crisis situations (economic, social, political, geopolitical, environmental), the Rennes 2 research community is seeking to shed light on how our collective societies can respond to these situations.

In all their diversity, the social sciences and humanities offer a variety of definitions and meanings of social cohesion. By engaging in dialogue on this topic, researchers will highlight the different approaches, issues and courses of action possible which can facilitate a fair society.

Many levers can be activated to move towards a more optimal level of social cohesion.

The event will be organized around 5 different themes:

  • Emancipation or normative control?
  • Making the invisible visible
  • Science and society
  • Social cohesion in the face of a singularization of trajectories
  • Sporting leisure activities as a means of social cohesion or as a means of distinguishing oneself from others
