The Interdisciplinary Days on the Animal Condition is an annual event organized by Francophone academics since 2018. They aim to decompartmentalize knowledge about the animal condition and the studies of the relationships between human beings and other animals. They aim to bring together different academic disciplines, whether from the humanities and social sciences, the arts and humanities, or the life sciences.

These workshops, which are intended to be highly interdisciplinary, will cover all aspects of the animal condition and anthropozoological relations, whether theoretical, pedagogical or practical.

The relationships between our species and members of other animal species are the subject of a lively societal debate, and questions that indicate possible social, ethical and political changes of magnitude. Research has a leading role to play in these changes and in putting these debates into perspective. In this context, the crossing and the sharing of knowledge and approaches is essential. We therefore enjoin researchers to share their work, their methods during this day, thus revealing the complexities of these questions, their nuances and richness.

Since May 2023, these events have been carried by the CNRS ORCA prospective network (Animal Condition Research Observatory).
