Swimmer Alain Bernard, cyclist Valentin Madouas and American triathlete Ray Browning, as well as representatives from the socio-economic and academic worlds, spoke at the launch of the DIGISPORT graduate program about the initiatives they have benefited from in the area of new technologies for sports performance and the prospects for the sector's development.

Based in Rennes, DIGISPORT is the result of the association of the two Rennes universities, (Rennes 1 and Rennes 2), the Grandes Ecoles Centrale Supélec, ENS Rennes, ENSAI, INSA Rennes and the organizations Inria and CNRS. DIGISPORT is coordinated by Rennes 2 University.

As noted by Ray Browning, "I think that this program has the capability and the potential of being really being inclusive. (…) As you build this program, it becomes a haven for diverse backgrounds, diverse gender, diverse ethnicity, disability, and it becomes a place where all individuals feel like they can be included in the success." He continued, saying "sport is not just elite, it certainly includes elite, but it is everybody. At Nike, we had a phrase which I really related to, and it was:  if you have a body, you are an athlete! And that really to me is the embodiment of the DIGISPORT graduate school program, and that it would impact every individual who benefits from the knowledge generated and translated here."

Following the start of its research activities, DIGISPORT is preparing the opening of a new Master's degree entitled "Digital Sciences and Sport", to begin in September 2022. Students with a Bachelor's degree or a first year of engineering school will be able to benefit from innovative, transdisciplinary education at the crossroads of the sports, digital and human and social sciences sectors applied to new technologies and sports. This school offers a Master's-Doctorate continuum in line with the most prestigious international graduate schools. It will benefit from the support and involvement of a network of academic and non-academic, national and international partners."
