RUN-ED: exploring pathways towards a European degree
Rennes 2 is participating in RUN-ED – Exploring Joint European Degrees in Regional University Network – European University, a three-year Erasmus+ project coordinated by the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) in Ireland and linked to the RUN-EU European University alliance.
Supported by €1 million in Erasmus+ funding, RUN-ED brings together higher education institutions from across Europe to explore and test pathways towards the European degree label. At Rennes 2, the project is led by Christine Evain, Professor at the Department of Languages and Director of the LIDILE research unit.
Rennes 2 will contribute through TELME – Teaching Languages in Multicultural Environments, its first Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme. Coordinated by Rennes 2, TELME welcomed its first cohort of 22 students representing 18 nationalities in September 2026.
Through RUN-ED, TELME will contribute to the work of the RUN-EU alliance by testing how existing joint programmes can meet European degree label requirements, addressing issues such as institutional readiness, quality assurance, mobility, employability and student support.
FAIRPLAY-WT: making wheelchair tennis classification fairer
FAIRPLAY-WT – From Function to Fairness: Advancing Inclusive and Evidence-Based Classification in Wheelchair Tennis is a two-year Erasmus+ Sport project coordinated by the Royal Dutch Lawn Tennis Association.
The €400,000 project brings together universities, national tennis federations and sports organisations with the aim of making wheelchair tennis classification more objective, transparent and evidence-based.
Researchers will collect functional, biomechanical and performance data from players with different impairment profiles to better understand the relationship between functional impairment and sporting performance. The findings will be used to develop and test practical classification criteria and tools, with the longer-term goal of improving fairness and consistency across Europe.
At Rennes 2, Caroline Martin from the M2S research laboratory will contribute her expertise in sports biomechanics and movement analysis. As Scientific Expert – Field-Based Biomechanical Testing, she will play a key role in athlete assessments, biomechanical data collection and the harmonisation of testing protocols.
