On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, a rainbow-colored staircase, a symbol of LGBTI pride, was inaugurated not far from the entrance of Rennes 2 University. The project, which aims to highlight LGBTI issues, rights and celebrate diversity, is one of the ten projects funded after the latest round of the participatory budget votes.

It was important that it could be inaugurated on May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia," said Christine Rivalan-Guégo, Vice-President of the University. "Rennes 2 is not exemplary or perfect. But management has made it possible for things to move forward," she emphasized.

A student representative of one of the student unions on campus is at the origin of the project. The idea was popular and received a large number of votes in the second round of the participatory budget. More than 8,600 students took part in the vote, an increase compared to the 8,052 students mobilized last year.
