Meeting with Philippe Descamps, member of the editorial staff of Le Monde Diplomatique and Philippe Blanchet, Professor of Sociolinguistics at Rennes 2 University

On Tuesday, April 4, at 6:00 pm, Les amis du Monde Diplomatique, in partnership with the Master Francophonie, Plurilinguisme, Minorités, Interculturel (FPMI) of Rennes 2, is organizing a meeting with Philippe Descamps, member of the editorial staff of Le Monde Diplomatique, and Philippe Blanchet, Professor of Sociolinguistics, around the Manière de Voir "The power of languages".

Should we resign ourselves to seeing the prodigious heritage of thousands of languages disappear? The threat is real, as is the risk of populations, tired of being denied their deepest identity, choosing the path of conflict. The submission to the market logic of culture leads to a monochrome world. Languages are tools of influence, but they are also tools of sharing. History shows their capacity of adaptation and resistance.
