José Luis Jobim will be visiting Rennes 2 for a set of conferences in his role as Chair of the Americas, a visit organized by Rennes 2 Professor Rita Godet and other members of the ERIMIT research team. He is currently a professor at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), Brazil and coordinator of the program in Literary Studies. He was a full professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, where he was Director of the  Institute of Literature, coordinator of the Literature Program and member of the University Council. His areas of research focus on territory, memory and migration in literature. Thus, José Luis has been a member of the Camões Prize 2017 and 2018, the most important literary prize in Portuguese-speaking countries.
