Welcome Week - Held this year during the first week of September, this event is one of the most important moments for international exchange students who arrive our main Villejean campus. Organized by our International Office, the week is designed specifically to familiarize them with their new university environment in an informative and yet cheerful way. Students learn about the various important administrative procedures, tools and resources at their disposal. They also benefit from meetings with our international coordinators who provide guidance on their academic content and structure of their courses. The week also includes several moments of conviviality and ends with several guided tours of the campus, the city of Rennes and even the Mont Saint Michel.

My name is Lucy, I'm 20 years old and I'm from Ireland. I study in the University of Galway on the west coast of Ireland and I'm studying languages here at Rennes 2 for the semester. My name is Alyssa, i'm also 20 and I'm also studying in the University of Galway. I study French and Spanish. Rennes 2 University it's very big but the staff are very friendly, all the people studying here are also very friendly so I think it's going to be a good year. The campus itself is very modern and it's much bigger than I expected but everyone here is so friendly and helpful it's great so far. This year I think I really want to learn a bit more about the culture in Britanny because it very similar to Irish culture and I think it be really interesting and I think I want to do the Disneyland trip in December but I also I also want to learn about the Britanny culture take some of the class of the values culture.
Je m'appelle Armin, j'ai 24 ans, je viens d'Allemagne de Hambourg. Je fais mes études maintenant à Rennes 2. Mes études c'est les sciences de l'éducation et la musicologie. J'ai envie de connaître les étudiants de Rennes 2, puis parler avec eux, parler avec tous les gens sur ce campus. J'ai déjà fait ça hier puis j'ai bien parlé avec les gens, aller au centre ville de Rennes, puis le centre ville de Rennes c'est très beau, très joli, des très vieilles maisons colorées puis c'est très joli à voir. J'aimerai bien aller à Saint-Malo un jour mais avec des amis on va voir quel jour on va faire ça. Puis oui le campus est assez joli, j'aime bien d'avoir une université centrée ensemble, comme ça on se peut connecter avec plein d'étudiants des autres départements. J'ai envie d'être ici, de parler du français, beaucoup du français, beaucoup du français très vite.
Hi i'm Patricia, i'm from Ireland and I go to Maynooth University which is one of Rennes 2 partners, so I chose Rennes 2 because I knew a girl that went there last yearand she said it was amazing, a lot of Irish culture, Celtic influence and so far it's been so good like everyone's so welcoming, went drinking we went to the bars. What one do we go to ? O'connell's, Fox and Friends, and went to the KilKenny's as well. My name is Rhiannon, i'm also 20 and I'm from Wicklow and I go to University College of Dublin and to be honest before coming here I actually didn't know anything about Rennes I didn't know it existed but honestly it's been so great coming here like the atmosphere is so good such a vibrant city i've never seen so many young people in one place it's just so cool and yeah I'm so excited to study here it seems great.
My name is Mario Perez, i'm from Madrid, from the autonomous University of Madrid. I'm 22 and i came here to study spanish litterature and my main goal it's to learn french. And my first impression of the campus it's that it's very big with lot of people, lot of life and all interesting proposult so i'm very happy to be here.
Mon nom c'est Pablo, je viens de la Galice de l'Espagne et j'étudie les Beaux Arts. Je suis venu ici à Rennes parce que la combinaison des matières était la meilleure de toutes les options et je vais pouvoir faire des matières de lettres et des matières de arts plastiques. Et ma première impression du campus c'était qu'il est énormément grand parce que la fac où je suis à la Galice est très petite elle est très a portée de tout, on est tout seul il y a personne on est dans le milieu d'une ville. Mon but de cet Erasmus c'est d'améliorer mon français surtout l'écrit, le parler aussi et apprendre une une nouvelle langue comme l'arabe ou le japonais. On a une excursion au Mont-Saint Michel le vendredi et après on visitait, on veut visiter les pays européens, on veut visiter Copenhague, l'Irlande, Londres, le reste de la France, l'Allemagne et avec la connexion de train on a beaucoup envie.
Bonjour je m'appelle Néréa, moi je m'appelle Victoria et nous avons 21 ans. Je suis espagnole moi aussi je suis espagnol, je viens de Saint-Sébastien au Pays Basque et moi je viens de Cadix en Andalousie et nous sommes arrivées, moi par exemple, je suis arrivée il y a deux jours. Moi aussi et on reste dans la résidence et Villejean Alsace qui est très bien. Moi je suis étudiante en lettres, moi aussi je vais faire de la philosophie classique. Je crois que c'est très grand, oui il y a beaucoup de bâtiments, beaucoup d'activités à faire et il y a beaucoup de sports qui nous intéressent parce qu'on a vu qu'il y a une piscine là-bas et on aimerait bien faire de la natation ici aussi. Et il y a beaucoup de gens aussi beaucoup de diversité, des étudiants internationaux et beaucoup de Français, très sympa, qui vont nous aider à nous adapter un peu plus ici à Rennes. Moi je veux aller beaucoup partout en France et connaître la culture française et bretonne, manger beaucoup de crêpes et du fromage et sortir beaucoup.
The pré-rentrée - The pré-rentrée is an orientation week for international students (and all students) who are directly enrolled in our degree programs. During this first week of return to our campuses, the Direction des Etudes et de la Vie Universitaire (Office for Studies and University Life - DEVU) and our different faculties and departments hold numerous meetings where students receive information on academic and administrative procedures.
Campus Week - Developed by the Student Life Office, this event is the opportunity to introduce students to the diversity and dynamism of student community life at Rennes 2, this lively social event on the Villejean and Mazier campuses is an opportunity to present the range of cultural and educational activities on offer at our University.
International Students’ Day - The International Mobility Centre, located in downtown Rennes, hosts this festive afternoon for students of Rennes higher education institutions. During the day, many actors of the Rennes cultural scene are on-hand to present their missions and offerings. The CMI team also organizes informative meetings that take place every 20 minutes in which they present information on subjects like: visa validation and renewals, finding private housing, health resources, transportation options and cultural outings.
