As part of the EMERGE Online Cultural Programme 2026, partner universities are organising webinars, workshops, streamed events and other activities open to members of the Alliance. Together, these initiatives offer opportunities to discover the languages, cultures and perspectives represented across EMERGE’s different European regions.
On 26 October, the programme continues with Listening to the Margins: Voices of Minority Languages, an online event exploring the place of minority and underrepresented languages in Europe today. Through perspectives from across the Alliance, the webinar will consider their role in cultural identity, community resilience, and creative and academic expression, while highlighting initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting linguistic diversity.
The online event will take place on Monday 26 October, from 14:00 to 16:00 CET, and is open to the Rennes 2 community and other members of the EMERGE Alliance.
The webinar will be accompanied by a poster exhibition hosted by EMERGE partner Europa-Universität Flensburg (EUF). Opening on Wednesday 21 October, the exhibition will remain on display at EUF until 30 October.
A shared cultural programme across EMERGE
Listening to the Margins is one of several activities brought together through the EMERGE Online Cultural Programme. By making events organised locally by partner universities accessible across the Alliance, the programme aims to encourage encounters between university communities, local stakeholders and the different languages and cultures represented within EMERGE.
