There are two pathways to this degree:

  • Disability and Neurodevelopmental disorders

  • Violence, risk and vulnerability: criminal psychology and victimology

Objectives

The Clinical Psychology, Psychopathology and Health Psychology course equips future clinical psychologists with the specific skills needed to implement an integrative approach in the field of clinical psychology and psychopathology, supplemented by other disciplinary approaches (in particular sociology, law, medicine, neurosciences). It aims to train psychologists to work on complex human and social problems in multidisciplinary contexts and in conjunction with other practitioners. The theoretical and methodological referencing of the course is that of a contemporary, multi-referenced, clinical psychology (biopsychosocial, cognitive-behavioural, systemic, developmental, neuropsychological, psychodynamic models, etc.). Both pathways comprise a field of specialization related to different areas of professional integration, and both prepare students to go on to doctoral degrees.

Skills

  • Ability to mobilize and implement an integrative clinical approach that is cross-referenced in the field of psychology

  • Ability to implement a reasoned approach that integrates the ethical and deontological dimensions of the psychologist’s work

  • Ability to use tests appropriately in the context of psychological and neuropsychological assessments

  • Ability to design, implement and assess clinical devices for therapeutic and preventive care

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to draw on relevant scientific resources from disciplines other than psychology (sociology, law, medicine, etc.)

  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative methodologies and analyse data

  • Good scientific and professional oral and written communication skills in French and another language.

Course Content

Master 1: year 1 of the Master’s programme builds on the fundamental knowledge acquired in the Bachelor’s degree and integrates preparatory modules for the Master 2 specializations. The core syllabus between the two pathways represents 360 hours (80%) of the total 432 hours of teaching offered to students (excluding language teaching).

Master 2: students follow the pathway relevant to the 72-hour course they selected in semester 2 of Master 1.
