There are three pathways in this Master’s Degree:

Objectives
This course adopts a two-fold epistemic and praxeologial approach to provide students with training in/through Humanities and Social Sciences (SHS) / Learning Sciences (SE) research and is based on a variety of fields that are transferable to many different workplaces: schools (primary and secondary), adult education, social work, arts, health, industry, higher education, lifelong learning, Open Distance Learning (ODL), e-learning, associative networks, NGOs.
Target characteristics:

Strong local footing (scientific, professional, community).

Networking of stakeholders involved in and associated with the training (researchers and practitioners).

Continuity guaranteed between the Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees.

Open to practitioners with support provided for adults returning to education.

Student, research unit and institutional participation in the training.

Focus on personal project (scientifically or vocationally oriented).
Skills

Understanding how learning and training institutions work and be able to act appropriately on the basis of valid knowledge.

Developing the ability to conduct objective investigations to document professional, expert and research questions.

Developing the capacity for distancing, reflexivity, cooperation, argumentative dialogue, formalization and deliberation guided by deontological and ethical principles.

Ability to integrate into an academic and professional environment and understand its culture and constraints in order to act in an informed manner.

Course Content
Each year includes:
Modules, divided into:

Core syllabus on the notions, concepts, theoretical and methodological foundations common to all pathways (M1: 150 hours / M2: 42 hours).

Core modules for the SIFA & TEF pathways: 122 hours (M1: 82 hours / M2: 60 hours).

Specific modules for each pathway: E&F pathway: 540 hours (M1: 237 hours / M2: 303 hours); SIFA pathway: 294 hours (M1: 72 hours / M2: 222 hours); TEF pathway: 312 hours (M1: 72 hours / M2: 240 hours)
Note: Some E&F pathway hours are shared and run in partnership with the Learning Sciences Masters’ Degrees of the Universities of Nantes, Brest and Le Mans. 131 hours (M1: 60 hours / M2: 71 hours).
Internships
All students undertake a professional internship, guaranteeing their future professional integration, career development or progress of their research study. The internship involves:

50 hours (M1), 75 hours (M2) per semester for students on the E&F pathway;
-
300 hours per semester for students on the SIFA and TEF pathways (for participants who do not have a regular professional activity in the field of vocational training).
