The Faculty of Sports Science and Physical Activity at Rennes 2 University offers training in sports professions and is the largest program of its kind in terms of student enrollment in all of France. Multidisciplinary, diverse and professionally-oriented, the courses offered provide students with access to a wide range of jobs related to physical sports and artistic activities (APSA). We help students to prepare for their professional lives once their studies are completed through unique placement and support programs within related professional structures. Courses are available at the two campuses: La Harpe (in Rennes) et Mazier (in St Brieuc).
Programs and Coursework
Our Faculty offers programs from the Bachelor’s through the Doctoral levels (access a list of our diploma programs by clicking on the department below), and our different courses are based on the articulation of both practical and theoretical dimensions of the field. First year curriculum focuses on sports activities but also sciences (human and social sciences). It is composed of 6 hours of theoretical and practical coursework per week and 3 physical/sports/artistic activities per semester (including 1 speciality). Second year coursework is when students begin to specialize in their core areas of interest.
